Have you ever gone into one of Footscray’s famous Sudanese, Ethiopian or Vietnamese restaurants and wanted to know more about the food traditions?

Pull up a chair and join us for a special two-course meal that will introduce you to the customs and popular greetings behind the food. You will leave with a belly full of tasty delights, and a better understanding of the diverse cultures that make up Footscray. 

$40 per person

Ye’misir Sambusa
Two hand-wrapped shells of thin pastry filled with a blend of brown lentils, onions, peppers & herbs.


Three Meat Combo

Chicken Tibs - Cubed chicken breast seasoned with garlic, onions, green peppers, and tomato finished with traditional awaze sauce.

Lamb Tibs - Tender pieces of cubed lamb sautéed in olive oil seasoned with onion, fresh tomatoes, garlic and rosemary served with injera.

Awaze Tibs - Lightly sautéed tender cubed pieces of lamb mixed with our homemade awaze sauce and onion, garlic and jalapenos pepper.


Vegetarian Combo

Misir Wot - Split red lentils simmered in a medium hot barbecue and onion sauce. 

Misir Alicha - Whole green lentils simmered until tender & thick with onion, garlic, ginger and turmeric.

Kik Alicha - Split yellow peas simmered until tender with onion, garlic and turmeric.

Miten Shiro - Roasted and powdered chickpeas simmered in oil (with red sauce).

Alicha Atklit - A combination of cabbage, carrot, potatoes and onions; simmered in oil.

Gomen - Chopped collard greens simmered in mild sauce with garlic, onions and green pepper.

Served with Ethiopian wine and coffee ceremony.
